Family-owned businesses obtain workers’ compensation coverage, improve their cash flow, with Automatic Data Processing Insurance Agency as their Agent
Riverside Service, Inc. and Riverside Auto Body LLC are family businesses, owned and operated by Albert and Heather Jagodzinski. Their AAA Auto Club-approved auto repair and towing facility in Cos Cob, Connecticut, has been a local fixture for 2 decades, employing up to 20 mechanics, drivers, dispatchers, and office workers. More recently, they opened a vehicle body shop.
“Our business insurance agent had someone who could always find us workers’ compensation coverage,” Albert Jagodzinski explains. “That worked well until the insurance company insisted that a company with a towing operation was considered a high risk. As a result, they decided not to renew us.”
Heather Jagodzinski adds, “We were in a really bad position. I called six different agents to get coverage and came away with nothing. We ended up in the state insurance risk pool and it was like living through a nightmare. At one point, we were even classified as a trucking company, which we obviously aren’t. That classification not only was wrong, it also meant higher premium payments. That compounded things and we had no one we could turn to for assistance.”
Coincidentally, Albert and Heather were changing their payroll service from another payroll provider to ADP, and subsequently received a call from a licensed agent at Automatic Data Processing Insurance Agency, an ADP, Inc. affiliated company. The agency specializes in providing select Property & Casualty and Health & Benefits Insurance for small and midsized businesses. “The agent asked us how we were obtaining our workers’ compensation coverage,” says Heather, adding, “I could not have received a better call!”
